Rob Reiner (Flipped) is attached to direct from a script by Guy Thomas.
Both actors have collaborated with Reiner before: Bening on The American President and Freeman on The Bucket List.
Revealing the project exclusively to Showbiz 411, Reiner said:
“I’m working on a film the title of it now is now called The Third Act – it looks like we’ll have Morgan Freeman and Annette Bening in it together.”
Voltage Pictures are financing the film.
