Prisoners-PosterDue to have its world premiere out in Toronto next Friday, Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners will be heading into cinemas very soon after that. And with Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal leading the charge, it looks set to be a strong thriller for the autumn/fall.

The last we saw from the film was the great latest trailer earlier in the summer. And now Warner Bros. have released the first US TV spot, teasing the high-tension soon to be hitting the big screen.

Keller Dover is facing every parent’s worst nightmare. His 6-year-old daughter and her young friend are missing, and as minutes turn to hours, panic sets in. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been parked on their street. Heading the investigation, Detective Loki arrests its driver, but a lack of evidence forces the only suspect’s release. Knowing his child’s life is at stake, the frantic Dover decides he has no choice but to take matters into his own hands. The desperate father will do whatever it takes to find the girls, but in doing so, may lose himself, begging the question: When do you cross the line between seeking justice and becoming a vigilante?

Terrence Howard, Maria Bello, Viola David, Melissa Leo, and Paul Dano lead an impressive cast alongside the leading duo.

Villeneuve, who is coming off the back of the Oscar-nominated Incendies, is directing from a script written by Aaron Guizikowski (Contraband).

Prisoners will be released in the US on September 20th, and has had its UK release date brought forward to 27th September. Here’s the new TV spot to get the anticipation rising.
