Disney has held back a lot of Star Wars: The Force Awakens merchandise until nearer the release of the movie to avoid key details getting out there, but Halloweed costumes for Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) have revealed some surprising spoilers for the movie.

Needless to say, if you’d rather not know what to expect, you’re best off turning away now!

Sometimes, heroes come from the unlikeliest of places. The Galactic Empire has been dead for decades, but evil never really dies. With villains rising to take the Empire’s place, heroes must rise to oppose them. After becoming stranded by himself in the deserts of Jakku, and meeting up with a girl named Rey, a Stormtrooper named Finn has joined the side of the Resistance. He began his adventure as a part of the New Order, but now he’s one of the few people that can stop them. With a new look, Finn is ready for a new mission. Since trading in his Stormtrooper armor for a new set of gear, Finn’s outfit might not be flashy, but it’s all that a hero needs to succeed.

What’s interesting about this is that most of us had assumed that Finn deliberately abandoned The First Order, but it’s now clear that he simply becomes stranded on Jakku and circumstances lead to him deciding to instead join up with Rey and the Resistance.

Here’s where things get really interesting though. Remember all that talk about the Knights of Ren? Well, it sounds like Kylo may indeed be just one of many new Sith related threats (bearing in mind he isn’t actually one) which arise in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. In fact, Rey will at one point clash with an entire group of them, and it appears as if the villain played by Adam Driver isn’t the only one to have built himself a lightsaber in this movie.

The mission to take down the First Order is underway! After invading the Starkiller Base, one member of the Resistance has split from her group and found herself in a massive room full of First Order soldiers. Completely surrounded by Stormtroopers with blasters and Knights of Ren with lightsabers, she seems to be totally outnumbered. Unfortunately for her enemies, though, they’ve made a big mistake: it’s not about the strength of the weapon, but the strength of the warrior that wields it.

Rey sounds like a force to be reckoned with, and the Knights of Ren sound very interesting indeed. Exactly who and what they are – and their ties to the Sith – remains to be seen, but more will hopefully be revealed in the next trailer for Star Wars: The Force Awakens…
