National Geographic UK has unveiled the breathtaking first trailer for ‘Pole to Pole with Will Smith,’ a sweeping seven-part docuseries that charts the actor’s extraordinary 100-day expedition across all seven continents. Premiering January 14 on National Geographic UK and Disney+, the series promises a cinematic, deeply personal journey into the farthest and most fragile corners of the Earth.

Five years in the making, the ambitious series follows Will Smith as he travels from the icy expanse of Antarctica to the lush depths of the Amazon rainforest, the towering peaks of the Himalayas, the vast deserts of Africa, the remote islands of the Pacific and, finally, the iceberg-studded Arctic. Each destination pushes him into a new challenge — physical, emotional, and philosophical.

Inspired by his late mentor’s encouragement to seek out life’s biggest questions, Smith throws himself into a series of staggering feats: skiing to the South Pole, catching a giant anaconda, milking venom from a tarantula, scaling mountain ranges, and plunging beneath the North Pole’s frozen surface. Along the way, he’s joined by scientists, explorers and local communities who help guide him through these incredible trials.

It blends frontier science, environmental insight and raw human experience. Through encounters with the Waorani community of the Amazon and the San people of the Kalahari, Smith discovers powerful lessons of resilience, ancestral knowledge and what it truly means to coexist with our planet.

“This journey was unlike anything I’ve ever done — at times I feared I might not make it home! It’s an exploration not just of the planet’s edges, but of some of the most extraordinary people living there,” said Smith. “From the coldest ice to the deepest jungles, the beauty of our world inspired my every step with awe and hope.”
