Disney Pixar have confirmed that their next original animation will be called ‘Onward’ and Guardians of the Galaxy’s Chris Pratt and Spider-Man’s Tom Holland will be heading up the voice cast.

Also joining Pratt and Holland on the case will be The Shape of Water’s Octavia Spencer and Veep’s Julia Louis-Dreyfus.

Monsters University’s Dan Scanlon will be at the helm on the animation that is set in a suburban fantasy world, ‘Onward’ introduces two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to discover if there is still a little magic left out there. Kori Rae will produce.

Scanlon stated “At Pixar, we try to create stories that come from some kind of personal truth…This film was inspired by my own relationship with my brother.

Chris Pratt said on joining the film;

So thrilled to be part of this. I can’t tell you much, but… I will tell you this when we visited Pixar to hear the pitch I straight up cried. This one is next level. God willing, in about a year and a half, you’ll be moved as well. We have a BEAUTIFUL story coming your way“.

Pratt’s forthcoming projects include ‘The Lego Movie 2: The Second Part’, ‘The Kid’ and Jurassic World 3.

Holland’s will next be seen in ‘Avengers: End Game’and ‘Spider-Man: Far From Home’ where he will reprise his role of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. His other projects include ‘The Voyage of Doctor Dolittle’ and ‘Spies in Disguise’.
