Yesterday, just before lunchtime, an oasis of calm was unfurled in Leicester Square. It came in the form of a green carpet for the big screen adaptation of Peter Rabbit and HeyUGuys were there to talk to the cast and crew and strolled merrily past.

This is the movie iteration of Beatrix Potter’s most beloved creation, and tells the simple story of a rebellious rabbit trying to sneak into a farmer’s vegetable garden. The stories have been adapted many times over the years, with Walt Disney famously being refused the rights back in 1936. Small screen scavengers will have seen a previous all CG version of the leaping leporidae on CBeebies in the UK, and new generations of fans have been discovering the books since they were first published in 1902.

The film features the voices of James Corden, Daisy Ridley, Elizabeth Debicki, Margot Robbie, Domhnall Gleeson, Sam Neill and Rose Byrne and is directed by Will Gluck. It is adapted from the stories by Beatrix Potter.

Zehra Phelan and Kat Kourbeti were on the carpet to meet with the stars, here’s how they got on.

Peter Rabbit is released in the UK on the 16th of March.
