A new trailer has been unearthed for the latest Stephen King movie adaptation, Pet Sematary. The previous big screen adaptation was a late 80s sleepover classic and this new version appears to have been itself dragged through the mud. This is dark, dreary and features Jason Clarke, Amy Seimetz and the venerable John Lithgow as our Maine characters in yet another chiller from the King.

This is a fine cast, and the source material is all the right kinds of creepy but for our money it is the team behind the camera that makes us very excited for this one. Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer are the team behind the underrated and absolutely fantastic Starry Eyes from 2014. While you’re waiting to go digging in the woods in 2019 check out that film if you haven’t already.

Here’s the new trailer,

Based on the seminal horror novel by Stephen King, Pet Sematary follows Dr. Louis Creed (Jason Clarke), who, after relocating with his wife Rachel (Amy Seimetz) and their two young children from Boston to rural Maine, discovers a mysterious burial ground hidden deep in the woods near the family’s new home. When tragedy strikes, Louis turns to his unusual neighbor, Jud Crandall (John Lithgow), setting off a perilous chain reaction that unleashes an unfathomable evil with horrific consequences.
