Netflix has unveiled the official trailer for ‘People We Meet on Vacation,’ a warm, witty, and wanderlust-soaked romance that charts the complicated, decade-long friendship between two total opposites who just might be perfect for each other. The adaptation is directed by Brett Haley and is set to release globally on 9th January 2026.
At the heart of the film are Poppy and Alex — played by Emily Bader and Tom Blyth — whose magnetic, if unlikely, bond has carried them through ten years of friendship. Poppy is spontaneous and adventurous, thriving in chaos and colour, while Alex prefers schedules, quiet routines, and a life with few surprises. Despite their differences, the pair have kept one unwavering tradition: every year, without fail, they take a summer vacation together.
The film boasts an ensemble cast including Sarah Catherine Hook, Lucien Laviscount, Miles Heizer, Jameela Jamil, Tommy Do, Lukas Gage, Alice Lee, with Molly Shannon and Alan Ruck rounding out the supporting lineup.
