The BBC is ramping up the excitement for the return of the Shelbys in season 5 of the critically acclaimed series ‘Peaky Blinders’ by releasing a new trailer.

Season 5 sees crime boss Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) begins his new role as a Member of Parliament. The world is thrown into turmoil by the financial crash of 1929. Opportunity and misfortune are everywhere. When Tommy Shelby MP is approached by a charismatic politician with a bold vision for Britain, he realises that his response will affect not just his family’s future but that of the entire nation.

Series regulars Cillian Murphy, Helen McCrory, Paul Anderson, Sophie Rundle, Finn Cole, Kate Phillips, Natasha O’Keeffe, Aidan Gillen, Jack Rowan, Charlie Murphy, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Harry Kirton, Packy Lee, Ned Dennehy, Ian Peck and Benjamin Zephaniah all return.

They are joined by new cast members Sam Claflin (The Nightingale, Adrift, Journey’s End), Anya Taylor-Joy (The Miniaturist, Split, The Witch) and Brian Gleeson.
