Fans of the ‘Outlander’ universe can start marking their calendars. MGM+ has confirmed the highly anticipated return of ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’ this autumn, following the conclusion of the ground-breaking Outlander drama next month. Alongside the announcement, the network has unveiled a brand-new teaser trailer and first-look images from season two, offering a glimpse into the sweeping romances and epic conflicts that lie ahead.

Season one of Outlander: Blood of My Blood introduced audiences to the passionate, interwoven love stories of Claire and Jamie Fraser’s parents. Julia (Hermione Corfield) and Henry Beauchamp (Jeremy Irvine) experienced romance across the battlefields of World War I, only to face the ultimate test when a mysterious time-travel journey separated them in 18th-century Scotland. Meanwhile, Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser (Jamie Roy) defied tradition and clan rivalries, igniting a forbidden love that challenged politics, family, and societal expectations.

By the close of season one, both couples stood at the edge of monumental change. Henry and Julia arrived at the standing stones of Craig Na Dun, hoping to find their way back to their own time, while Brian and Ellen’s escape was thwarted by the outbreak of the 1715 Jacobite Rising, thrusting their clans into war.

Season two will continue to explore the trials and separations of these two young couples, as loyalties are tested and every clan is forced to pick a side in the rebellion. The new teaser hints at sweeping highland landscapes, heart-stopping romance, and the intricate political tensions that will shape their destinies.

Joining Corfield, Irvine, Slater, and Roy are an ensemble of acclaimed actors, including Tony Curran as Simon Fraser, Lord Lovat, Séamus McLean Ross as Colum MacKenzie, Sam Retford as Dougal MacKenzie, Rory Alexander as Murtagh Fitzgibbons Fraser, and Conor MacNeill as Ned Gowan.

Matthew B. Roberts serves as showrunner for both ‘Outlander’ and ‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’, with executive producers including Ronald D. Moore, Maril Davis, Toni Graphia, Luke Schelhaas, Michael Wilson, Jim Kohlberg, and Luke Parker Bowles.
