One-Chance-PosterIn One Chance, James Corden will take centre stage in his first major feature performance as Paul Potts.

The biopic comes from David Frankel, the Oscar-winning director behind The Devil Wears Prada and Marley & Me. And with the film about to make its debut out in Toronto, the first trailer has surfaced online.

From the director of The Devil Wears Prada, ONE CHANCE is the remarkable and inspirational true story of Paul Potts, a shy, bullied shop assistant by day and an amateur opera singer by night. Paul became an instant YouTube phenomenon after being chosen by Simon Cowell for ‘Britain’s Got Talent.’ Wowing audiences worldwide with his phenomenal voice, Paul went on to win ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ and the hearts of millions.

Starring opposite Corden will be Julie Walters, with Alexandra Roach, Mackenzie Crook, and Colm Meaney completing the cast nicely.

Frankel is directing from a script penned by Justin Zackham (The Bucket List), with Kris Thykier (Kick-Ass), Bob and Harvey Weinstein (Django Unchained), and Simon Cowell (One Direction: This Is Us) producing.

One Chance is set to be released in the UK on 25th October, following its bow at TIFF this month. Still no word yet on when The Weinstein Company will be releasing it in the US, but it could well be sometime early next year, following the number of Oscar-primed movies on their slate in the coming months.
