After its big screen release in November, fans of Olaf’s Frozen Adventure are in for a special delight as Disney’s animated short film will get its TV premiere treatment on Christmas Day exclusively on Sky Cinema.

The 21-minute mini-movie features Frozen favourite Olaf, who is searching the kingdom of Arendelle to bring back a Christmas tradition for Anna and Elsa. Olaf’s Frozen Adventure includes four brand new songs guaranteed to have families singing along this Christmas: ‘Ring in the Season’, ‘The Ballad of Flemmingrad’, ‘That Time of Year’ and ‘When we’re Together’, and features the original cast and characters, including Olaf (Josh Gad), Anna (Kristen Bell), Elsa (Idina Menzel) and Kristoff (Jonathan Groff).

The short will premiere at the crack of dawn at 6am, so those with ankle biters too excited to sleep in anticipation to open their presents can start the day with their favourite little snowman. However, that’s not all Sky Cinema are giving their audience another Disney premiere with the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast also available on Christmas day with its first showing directly after the Queens speech at 3:10pm and the next 8pm.

The announcement comes after Disney scrapped the showing of the short before screenings in the US for their latest animation, Coco after audiences felt the short was too long among other reactions.

Coco co-director Adrian Molina confessed that the short was ‘a bit of an experiment’ saying:  ‘It is longer than, I think, any other short that has ever been attached to one of these films, so I’ve heard that that has taken people by surprise.’
