Sony Pictures Classics have unveiled the official trailer and poster for comedy-thriller The Guard.
Written and directed by John Michael McDonagh, The Guard stars Brendan Gleeson, Don Cheadle, Liam Cunningham, Rory Keenan, Mark Strong, David Wilmot, Fionnula Flanagan and Dominique McElligott.
Sergeant Gerry Boyle (Gleeson) is a small-town Irish cop with a confrontational personality, a subversive sense of humor, a dying mother, a fondness for prostitutes, and absolutely no interest whatsoever in the international cocaine-smuggling ring that has brought straight-laced FBI agent Wendell Everett (Cheadle) to his door.
The Guard has been making waves at various film festivals since late last year and will hit cinemas in the UK on July 8.
