Nicholas Hoult (A Single Man), who has seen his screen profile rise immeasurably since his appearance on TV series Skins, has landed the lead role in Warm Bodies.

Warm Bodies, an adaptation of Isaac Marion’s book, is a zombie film set up at Summit Entertainment that has Jonathan Levine attached to direct.

Hoult will play the titular character “R”, an existentially tormented zombie.

A zombie named “R” sparks a friendship with the girlfriend of one of his victims, triggering a chain reaction that could transform the world.

Production is expected to commence in the Summer, once Hoult has completed work on Bryan Singer’s Jack the Giant Killer.
