Nia Long is the latest name to join the Michael Jackson biopic, ‘Michael’ by Antoine Fuqua. Long will take on the role of Jackson’s mother, Katherine.

Another recent casting comes in the form of Colman Domingo as Jackson’s Father Joe. Michael Jackson’s nephew and son of Jermaine Jackson, Jaafar, will take on the role of Michael during his early years as a child star.

On her casting Long stated; “Katherine Jackson is an incredible pillar of strength and grace for the entire Jackson family,” she went on to comment. “As a mother, she was selfless and endured forces beyond her control yet still managed to help build a legacy beyond measure.”

‘Emancipation’ filmmaker, Antoine Fuqua will direct the movie. ‘Skyfall,’ ‘The Aviator’ and ‘Gladiator’ scribe John Logan will write the story, which promises a “never-before-told and in-depth portrayal of the complicated man who became the King of Pop.”
