Jeremy Renner (The Avengers) returns to the big screen this month in The Bourne Legacy, one of the most anticipated blockbusters of the summer, with all eyes turned to see how it fares in rebooting the franchise Matt Damon brilliantly led in the first three films.

The early reviews for the film are very promising, and with its US release just around the corner this Friday, a new TV spot has made its way online, giving us thirty seconds of Bourne / Aaron Cross goodness.

“The narrative architect behind the Bourne film series, Tony Gilroy, takes the helm in the next chapter of the hugely popular espionage franchise that has earned almost $1 billion at the global box office: The Bourne Legacy. The writer/director expands the Bourne universe created by Robert Ludlum with an original story that introduces us to a new hero (Jeremy Renner) whose life-or-death stakes have been triggered by the events of the first three films. For The Bourne Legacy, Renner joins fellow series newcomers Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac, while franchise veterans Albert Finney, Joan Allen, David Strathairn and Scott Glenn reprise their roles.”

Starring alongside Renner in the lead is an impressive supporting cast of new and old faces alike, headed up by Rachel Weisz, Edward Norton, Oscar Isaac, Stacy Keach, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, and David Strathairn.

Tony Gilroy makes his Bourne debut behind the camera, having written the first three films, co-writing the script with brother Dan Gilroy (Real Steel, The Fall).

The Bourne Legacy will be released in the US this Friday, 10th August, before coming to the UK next Monday, 13th August. To help tie you over until then, enjoy this great new TV spot.
