We’ve seen plenty of the film already to give us an indication of how good it’s going to be, and now an awesome new red-band trailer has debuted over at Yahoo Movies, showing us more than a few reasons why it’s going to be R-rated in the US.
“A powerful story of family, friendship, love, honor and courage, End Of Watch stars Academy Award nominee Jake Gyllenhaal and Michael Peña as young Los Angeles police officers Taylor and Zavala as they patrol the city’s meanest streets of south central Los Angeles.
Giving the story a gripping, first-person immediacy, the action unfolds entirely through footage from the handheld HD cameras of the police officers, gang members, surveillance cameras, and citizens caught in the line of fire to create a riveting portrait of the city’s darkest, most violent corners, the cops who risk their lives there every day, and the price they and their families are forced to pay.”
David Ayer (Training Day) steps behind the camera once more, directing from his own script, with Gyllenhaal and Peña supported by a great cast, headed up by Anna Kendrick, America Ferrera, Cody Horn, Natalie Martinez, and Frank Grillo.
End of Watch will be debuting at TIFF next month, before its 21st September release in the US. Here in the UK, we’ll have to wait until 23rd November, but it should be well worth it. This is going to be awesome. And one final reminder: This is a red-band trailer, with plenty of F-bombs, so be sure to come back to watch it if you’re reading this at work.
