The first teaser trailer for Shane Black’s Iron Man 3 is expected to drop next Tuesday, 23rd October, and the anticipation is naturally running on high.

Just yesterday we heard that the film is officially set to be released in 3D, the first Iron Man film to use the extra dimension, along with Thor: The Dark World, and it came with the brilliant news that Edgar Wright’s Ant-Man has been set for a November 2015 release.

And with Iron Man 3’s teaser trailer on the cusp of setting the Internet alight next week, it looks like some more promotional artwork has surfaced online in the meantime, showing off what is rumoured to be Tony Stark’s Mark XLVII Armour,

The official synopsis remains under wraps for the time being, but we do know that Ben Kingsley, Guy Pearce, and James Badge Dale top the newcomers to the cast, with Kingsley’s role as The Mandarin and Pearce’s role as Aldrich Killian pointing to Warren Ellis’ Extremis arc.

Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle, and Jon Favreau will all be reprising their roles, with Paul Bettany once more lending his voice as JARVIS, and the brilliant Rebecca Hall will be taking the lead this time around.

Shane Black is directing from a script he co-wrote with rising screenwriter Drew Pearce, who’s also been hired to pen Sherlock Holmes 3 and polish the Godzilla script, with Favreau remaining as executive producer having opted out of taking the helm for the third time running.

Iron Man 3 will be released in 3D in the UK on 26th April, 2013, followed by a 3rd May release in the US. Following on from the global success of The Avengers, we can’t wait to see what Marvel have in store for us to kick off Phase Two. For now, here’s the great new promo artwork, which you can click to enlarge. And be sure to come back next Tuesday when the teaser trailer hits; we’ll have it for you as soon as it drops.
