We’ve seen a lot of posters and stills for Marvel and James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy, and almost all of them have put the spotlight on the main group of characters; Star-Lord (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista), Rocket Raccoon (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel).

However, Marvel have covered all their bases as three new posters have been released today which give us a much better look at the movie’s impressive supporting cast. We see Glenn Close (The Shield) as Nova Prime Rael, the leader of the intergalactic police force known as the Nova Corps who enlists the help of the Guardians.

Joining her are  John C. Reilly’s (Wreck-It Ralph) as Rhomann Dey – flanked by his fellow Corps members – and the sure to be fan favourite Yondu. He’s played by Gunn movie regular and The Walking Dead star Michael Rooker. You can see the full-size version of each poster by clicking on the thumbnails below.

You’ll also find a brand new featurette for Guardians of the Galaxy which puts the focus squarely on Star-Lord, and it includes both new footage from the movie and an interview with Pratt about the role.

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

Starring Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Djimon Hounsou, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close and Benicio del Toro, Guardians of the Galaxy is set to be released on August 1st in the US and July 31st in the UK.
