LooperRian Johnson’s Looper is shaping up to be potentially the best sci-fi/action film of the year, with a fantastic leading cast in Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Bruce Willis.

All we’ve seen from the film so far has been brilliant, and it continued to impress at Comic-Con over the weekend, and now a set of images have made their way online.

“In the futuristic action thriller Looper, time travel will be invented – but it will be illegal and only available on the black market. When the mob wants to get rid of someone, they will send their target 30 years into the past, where a “looper” – a hired gun, like Joe (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) – is waiting to mop up. Joe is getting rich and life is good… until the day the mob decides to “close the loop,” sending back Joe’s future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination.

The film is written and directed by Rian Johnson and also stars Emily Blunt, Paul Dano, and Jeff Daniels. Ram Bergman and James D. Stern produce.”

Johnson directs from his own script, and has assembled an impressive supporting cast, with Emily Blunt, Jeff Daniels, Paul Dano, Piper Perabo, Noah Segan, and Garrett Dillahunt starring alongside the leading duo.

These new images give us a look at Perabo, Dano, Daniels, and Segan as well a small image of Gordon-Levitt and Willis, and a shot of Johnson on set with his younger star.

Looper will hit theatres on 28th September in the UK and US. Expect big things, because this is looking immense. As usual with (most of) these new images, you can click to enlarge.
