After getting the first images from the set of M. Night Shyamalan’s After Earth last week, led by Jaden and Will Smith, we’ve now got another new image of Jaden Smith on set in what looks to be a pretty cool costume.
Will and Jaden will star as father and son in the film too, with Shyamalan directing from a script by Gary Whitta (The Book of Eli), with a rewrite coming from Academy Award-winning writer Stephen Gaghan (Traffic).
A detailed synopsis is currently being kept under wraps, but here’s what we know so far:
“A father and son crash land on Earth, one thousand years after it has been abandoned by mankind. The father is injured in the crash, and it is up to his son to find aid.”
This new image comes courtesy of the young Smith’s WhoSay, via Collider, just as some of the first came Shayamalan’s, which suggests we can probably look forward to a few more teaser images from the set whilst they’re filming.
Along with the father and son Smiths, the film will also star Sophie Okonedo, Zoe Kravitz, and Isabelle Fuhrman.
After Earth is set to open on 7th June, 2013, and will no doubt be one of the biggest summer blockbusters we can look forward to next year. More as we get it.
