Following on from the awesome first full-length trailers that debuted at the start of the week for Skyfall, we’ve now got another brilliant new image of Daniel Craig and Javier Bardem in the upcoming twenty-third James Bond film.
Craig has been looking his usual brilliant self in all we’ve seen from him so far, and we got our first good look at Bardem with the release of the trailer, looking rather menacing with his new blond hair.
“In SKYFALL, Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.”
Starring alongside them will be a fantastic supporting cast, headed up by Ralph Fiennes, Bérénice Marlohe, Naomie Harris, Albert Finney, Ben Whishaw, Helen McCrory, Ola Rapace, and Dame Judi Dench.
Sam Mendes (American Beauty) makes his Bond debut behind the camera, directing from a script co-written by Bond-frequents Neal Purvis and Robert Wade, and the ever-brilliant John Logan (Gladiator, Coriolanus).
I can’t help but think that this is going to be similar to The Dark Knight Rises, in some ways, in that we won’t really have a full idea of quite what to expect until we’re actually in the cinemas towards the end of the year.
One this is sure, though: This is going to be immense.
Skyfall will be released in regular and IMAX theatres on 26th October here in the UK, followed by a 9th November release in the US. As usual with this great new image (which almost reminds me of Loki in The Avengers), you can click to enlarge.
