Pete Travis’ Dredd 3D debuted at Comic-Con to brilliant first reviews last month, and with only a few weeks left to go, the anticipation is soaring and the ad campaign has been gearing up nicely to match.

Karl Urban takes the lead as the eponymous Judge Dredd, with Olivia Thirlby starring alongside him as Judge Anderson, and Lena Headey as the antagonist, Ma-Ma.

We got a legendary first TV spot for the film yesterday, and now we’ve got a new clip giving us a look at the leading players, courtesy of Den of Geek.

“DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip.”

Travis is directing from a script by the great Alex Garland (28 Days Later, The Beach), with Domhnall Gleeson, Wood Harris, and Jason Cope completing the supporting cast.

Dredd 3D will be released in the UK on 7th September, before heading to the US on 21st September. Garland has already said that if the film does well – to the tune of $50m. in the US – we could see the film become the first in a trilogy, so be sure to see this as soon as you can when it hits. For now, enjoy this great new clip.
