With only a week to go until Dredd 3D hits the big screen here in the UK – and only three until its release in the US – things are looking pretty awesome for Pete Travis’ adaptation of the classic 2000 AD character.

After catching a great new TV spot and clip from the film last week, we’ve got another new clip to share, in which Dredd makes his presence felt.

Karl Urban takes the lead as the eponymous Judge Dredd, with Olivia Thirlby at his side as Judge Anderson, and Lena Headey as the antagonist, Ma-Ma.

“DREDD takes us to the wild streets of Mega City One, the lone oasis of quasi-civilization on Cursed Earth. Judge Dredd (Karl Urban) is the most feared of elite Street Judges, with the power to enforce the law, sentence offenders and execute them on the spot – if necessary. The endlessly inventive mind of writer Alex Garland and the frenetic vision of director Peter Travis bring DREDD to life as a futuristic neo-noir action film that returns the celebrated character to the dark, visceral incarnation from John Wagner and Carlos Ezquerra’s revered comic strip.”

Travis is directing from a script by Alex Garland (28 Days Later, The Beach), with Domhnall Gleeson, Wood Harris, and Jason Cope completing the supporting cast.

Dredd 3D will be making its way into theatres on 7th September here in the UK, followed by a 21st September release in the US. The film debuted at Comic-Con to excellent early reviews, which is naturally a very good sign, and we can’t wait for it to arrive on the big screen.
