Liam Neeson returns to the big screen in Taken 2 next weekend, the sequel to the highly successful 2008 original from the pen of Luc Besson.

Stefan caught the film earlier in the month, and wasn’t particularly impressed – you can read his review here – but the original enjoys a cult status that should secure the sequel a substantial audience, and judging by what we’ve seen so far, there’ll be plenty of action to enjoy.

We saw a new featurette yesterday, appropriately titled ‘360 Degrees of Action’, and now a new clip from the film has been released online.

“Bryan Mills is the retired CIA agent with a “particular set of skills” who stopped at nothing to save his daughter Kim from kidnappers. When the father of one of the villains Bryan killed swears revenge, and takes Bryan and his wife hostage in Istanbul, Bryan enlists Kim to help them escape. Bryan then employs his unique tactics to get his family to safety and systematically take out the kidnappers, one by one.”

Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) is behind the camera this time around, directing from a script penned by Besson and Robert Mark Kamen, with the excellent Maggie Grace and Famke Janssen reprising their roles from the first film, and Rade Serbedzija starring as the antagonist.

Taken 2 will be hitting the big screen next weekend, coming to the UK on Thursday, 4th October, followed by a Friday release on 5th October in the US. For now, here’s the new getaway clip from the film. Enjoy.
