The first I heard of Iron Sky was its simple premise which went something along the lines of ‘Nazis in Space’. Of course, I’ve been looking out for the film ever since.

In dire straits at the end of the Second World War the Nazis developed a breakthrough in anti gravity power which allowed them to leave the Earth from a secret base in Antarctica bound for the dark side of the Moon, there to rebuild their armies and, when the time was right, return to Earth and finish what they started.

Iron Sky is something of a labour of love for the team headed by director Timo Vuorensola and has so far taken five years of pre production to get to filming which finished in winter and now there’s a new teaser trailer for us to enjoy. There are space bound airships and lots of shouting to get you in the mood and if the premise doesn’t grab you then take a look at the footage – it’s gloriously silly and is certainly something we’ve not seen before.

The team are shopping the film around in Cannes right now, so if you’re there make sure you pop by and say Hello.
