Last night, James Corden took on the role of a lifetime replacing Craig Ferguson as the host of the Late Late Show on CBS in the states. It is a show with massive pressure but from what we can see, Corden managed it with ease hosting Tom Hanks and Mila Kunis as his first guests.

Corden is probably best known in the UK for his BBC TV series Gavin and Stacey although has more recently appearing in multiple movies including One Chance, Begin Again and Into the Woods opposite Meryl Streep, Emily Blunt and Anna Kendrick. He also hosts popular comedy sports show on Sky One HD –  A League of Their Own – a show we hope continues in the wake of his new found fame. He’s also no stranger to theatre and won a Tony Award for his role in One Man, Two Guvnors. Corden has also been part of raising a lot of money for charities including Comic Relief reprising his role of Smiffy to create some very funny videos with the England Football Tea,

By his own admission he’s not the first person you’d think of to host such a huge show over here at HeyUGuys we love him. We’ve spoken to him numerous times on various different projects, one of which was his rather interesting movie with Gavin and Stacey co-star Matthew Horne – a move in which he wishes he could vanish (our interview with him talking about it is below and is comedy viewing!).

Last night’s Late Late Show featured sketches which included cameos from the likes of Shia LaBeouf, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Meryl Streep, Simon Cowell (to name but a few) and joined by his parents, it looks like Corden has found his new home and made himself rather comfy.

Here’s a few of the highlights from the show but you must start with the Tom Hanks sketch where Hanks and Corden attempt to re-enact as many Hanks movies as possible in 8 minutes.

Enjoy!
