Murderbot

Based on a hugely popular book series, Murderbot has been given the adaptation treatment in emphatic fashion, coming to Apple TV+ and with none other than Alexander Skarsgård in the title role. To mark the release of the entertaining show, we had the pleasure in speaking to the aforementioned star, alongside several other of the cast-members.

Below you can find our interviews with Skarsgård, David Dastmalchian & Noma Dumezwni, as well as Sabrina Wu & Tattiawna Jones, and then Tamara Podemski & Ashkay Khanna – as we discuss the overarching themes of the show, while, in the spirit of Murderbot enjoying his favourite space-set soap opera, what each of the cast-members would choose as their favourite comfort watch. Who knew Skarsgård was such a big fan of Alan Partridge?

Plot

Based on Martha Wells’ best-selling, Hugo and Nebula Award-winning book series ‘The Murderbot Diaries,’ the series is a sci-fi thriller/comedy about a self-hacking security construct who is horrified by human emotion yet drawn to its vulnerable clients. Played by Skarsgård, Murderbot must hide its free will and complete a dangerous assignment when all it really wants is to be left alone to watch futuristic soap operas and figure out its place in the universe.

The ten-episode series will premiere globally on Apple TV+ with the first two episodes on Friday, May 16, 2025, followed by new episodes every Friday through July 11.
