Warner Bros has debuted the new trailer for the upcoming video game adaptation ‘Mortal Kombat’ from producer James Wan.
The story follows MMA fighter Cole (Tan), accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage – or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung (Han) has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero (Taslim). Ultimately he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe.
The film is directed by Simon McQuoid (in his feature directorial debut) from a screenplay by Greg Russo and Dave Callaham and a story by Oren Uziel and Russo.
It stars Hiroyuki Sanada as Scorpion, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Chin Han as Emperor Shang Tsung, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Mehcad Brooks as Jackson ‘Jax’ Bridges, Sisi Stringer as Mileena and Lewis Tan as Cole Young.
