Pixar’s anticipated Monsters University is just months away from release, with the film marking the first time the studio has gone down the prequel route. Needless to say, we can’t wait for Mike and Sulley’s return.
The studio recently announced a set of terrific new additions to the already-impressive voice cast, including Nathan Fillion, John Krasinski, and Aubrey Plaza. And following on from that announcement, they’ve debuted a great new UK poster ahead of its release on our shores this summer.
Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case. From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn’t stand each other. “Monsters University” unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.
Screaming with laughter and fun, “Monsters University” is directed by Dan Scanlon (“Cars,” “Mater and the Ghostlight,” “Tracy”) and produced by Kori Rae (“Up,” “The Incredibles,” “Monsters, Inc.”).
John Goodman and Billy Crystal are naturally reprising their leading roles. And they’re joined by a terrific voice cast, led by Steve Buscemi, Joel Murray, Sean Hayes, Dave Foley, Peter Sohn, Nathan Fillion, Aubrey Plaza, John Krasinski, Charlie Day, Kelsey Grammar, Frank Oz, Tyler Labine, Bonnie Hunt, Ken Jeong, Rob Riggle, Ricky Gervais, J.B. Smoove, Helen Mirren, and studio veteran John Ratzenberger.
Dan Scanlon (Tracy, Mater and the Ghostlight) is behind the camera, taking over the helm from Pete Docter, and he’s directing from a script co-written by Docter and Andrew Stanton (Toy Story 3, Finding Nemo).
Monsters University will be released in 3D on June 21st in the US, with its UK release date following a few weeks later on 12th July. Whilst we await its arrival, here’s the new poster to get you in the mood.
