If like us you were devastated when Breaking Bad came to an end last year, you’re likely counting down the days until the premiere of spin-off Better Call Saul. Set in 2002 before the shifty lawyer met Walter White and Jesse Pinkman, it picks up with the titular character when he was better known as Jimmy McGill.

During this time, he was a small-time lawyer searching for his destiny and hustling to make ends meet. Working alongside and often against him is “fixer” Mike Erhmantraut, a character first introduced in Breaking Bad. The series will track Jimmy’s transformation into a man who puts the criminal in “criminal lawyer.”

In this trailer for Better Call Saul (which unlike previous teasers actually contains footage from the highly anticipated series), we get a better idea of where “Jimmy” is in his life at this point. Witnessing the journey of his evolution into the man who helped Walter White build his drugs empire should be fascinating!

Also below is a new poster for Better Call Saul which puts the spotlight on the New Mexico setting.

It was announced earlier this year that Better Call Saul will have a two hour premiere on February 8th in the US, and it should reach the UK shortly after on Netflix. Joining Bob Odenkirk (who obviously plays Sual in the spin-off) are series regulars Jonathan Banks. Michael McKean, Rhea Seehorn, Patrick Fabian, and Michael Mando, actors who play characters representing both legitimate and illegitimate sides of the law.
