Disney has released an all-new trailer for its highly anticipated live-action reimagining of Moana, offering audiences a vibrant look at the beloved story brought to life on an epic scale.
The film stars newcomer Catherine Lagaʻaia as the fearless wayfinder Moana, alongside Dwayne Johnson, who reprises his fan-favourite role as the larger-than-life demigod Maui.
Joining the cast is John Tui as Moana’s steadfast father, Chief Tui, Frankie Adams as her spirited mother Sina, and Rena Owen as the wise and guiding Gramma Tala.
Helming the project is Emmy and Tony Award winner Thomas Kail, best known for his work on ‘Hamilton.’ The production team includes Johnson, Dany Garcia, Beau Flynn, Hiram Garcia, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, with Kail also serving as executive producer alongside Scott Sheldon, Charles Newirth, and Auliʻi Cravalho, who voiced Moana in the original animated films.
Musically, the film builds on its rich legacy, featuring original songs by Miranda, Opetaia Foaʻi, and Mark Mancina, with Mancina also providing the score.
