To mark the release of Armando Iannucci’s The Death of Stalin, we had the immense pleasure of sitting down with two quite remarkable actors. Michael Palin is one of the greatest screen legends in Britain, while the same can said of Simon Russell Beale on the stage.

We discussed the allure of Iannucci, and how with a film that walks that fine line between comedy and drama so effortlessly, how they needed somebody like the Scotsman at the helm. We also discuss how just reprehensible the characters are they play and how much fun that must’ve been – while moving on to the subject of Trump, which feels worrying relevant where this production is concerned.
