It’s being reported that Michael Keaton is in the very early stages of negotiations to reprise his role as Batman in the long-in-gestation/will it ever happen version of ‘The Flash’.
The film’s story will reportedly explore the idea of the DC multiverse – a shifting number of alternate universes that co-exist within a larger reality. That allows several different versions of the same characters to simultaneously exist and, occasionally, interact taking its cue from the highly successful ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’.
In the film, Ezra Miller’s Barry Allen travels back in time to prevent the death of his mother.
The scope of Keaton’s role as Batman is being kept under wraps.
Andy Muschietti is helming the new project with Ezra Miller reprising his role in the story loosely based on the time-travelling Flashpoint comic storyline. Birds of Prey scribe Christina Hodson will pen the script.
