Omar’s coming…to Assassin’s Creed and Ghostbusters. Michael K. Williams shot to fame with his critically acclaimed performance in The Wire, and followed that up with Boardwalk Empire and a number of movies.

According to The Wrap, Williams will star in the movie alongside Andy Garcia (Ocean’s Eleven). Garcia is set to play the Mayor of New York City, while Williams will star as a character named “Hawkins”. There are unfortunately no more details than that available right now, but the site adds that Veep’s Matt Walsh will play “Rourke”. New York City’s NY1 news anchor Pat Kiernan will cameo as a a news anchor as well.

The main cast of Ghostbusters is made up of Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones, and Chris Hemsworth, but these are some very interesting and exciting additions. Paul Feig meanwhile has taken to Twitter to share some new images and details of the proton packs the Ghostbusters will use!

In related Michael K. Williams news, Variety adds that the actor has also landed a lead role in video game adaptation Assassin’s Creed. There’s once again no solid details on who he will play, but it’s thought that his character will be one who would have a recurring role in any potential sequels moving forwards.

There, he joins a cast which so far includes Michael Fassbender, Marion Cotillard, and Ariane Labed.
