With shooting now complete on Ridley Scott’s latest entry into the Alien series, Alien: Covenant, more news is being revealed as we head towards its release date next summer. (via DarkHorizons)

Indeed speaking to the Irish Times this week, Michael Fassbender has been discussing the film and has confirmed that he is playing two androids in the film (David and new character Walter) and maybe more.

Fassbender said:

“I am allowed to say I am playing two robots – Walter and David. I think what’s great about it is that Ridley has gone back to the original DNA of Alien, the horror element of that. But is also has the scope and the scale of Prometheus. Ridley has cut it already. He is a machine. He is an incredible human being and he was in such good form. He is such an imaginative and mischievous figure.”

In addition to Fassbender’s comments, AVP Galaxy added that Walter is a more “advanced version of David” and is “distrustful of David 8” because of his lack of upgrades over the last decade.

Fassbender co-stars in the film with Katherine Waterston, Billy Crudup, Danny McBride, Carmen Ejogo, Demian Bechir and the returning Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce.

Alien: Covenant opens August 2rd, 2017.
