Sony Pictures UK has released the intense first trailer for ‘Mercy,’ the gripping new sci-fi thriller from visionary director Timur Bekmambetov (Wanted, Searching).

Set in a chillingly plausible near future, ‘Mercy’ stars Chris Pratt as a detective accused of murdering his wife. Once a celebrated champion of artificial intelligence, he now finds himself at the mercy of the most advanced A.I. system ever created — Judge, voiced and embodied by Rebecca Ferguson (Dune, Mission: Impossible). With only 90 minutes to prove his innocence, every move he makes is tracked, analysed, and judged by the technology he helped bring to life.

The trailer teases a high-stakes battle of logic, emotion, and morality as man and machine face off in a race against time. As the walls close in and secrets unravel, Pratt’s character must confront not only the truth of his wife’s death but the consequences of the world he helped build.

The film also stars Kali Reis (True Detective: Night Country), Annabelle Wallis (Malignant), Chris Sullivan (This Is Us), and Kylie Rogers (Beau Is Afraid).
