Matthew McConaughey has joined ranks with British filmmaker, Guy Ritchie on his upcoming feature Toff Guys.

McConaughey will be joined on the cast by Kate Beckinsale, and Crazy Rich Asians breakout star Henry Golding.

Ritchie’s film will focus on the collision of old-money, European wealth and the modern marijuana industrial complex. It follows a British drug lord attempting to cash out on his highly profitable empire by selling it off to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires. McConaughey will play the role of an ultimate “inside outsider”. Details for Beckinsale and Golding’s characters are yet to be revealed.

Ritchie alongside Marn Davies and Ivan Atkinson have written the script on the film which is set to start filming in Autumn. The film is scheduled for a 2019 release.

McConaughey’s list of upcoming features includes White Boy Rick, and he can be seen next in Serenity with Anne Hathaway, followed by Harmony Korine’s The Beach Bum.

Golding is having a pretty impressive year so far with both Crazy, Rich Asians and Paul Feig’s A Simple Favour under his belt. He will also be starring as the male lead, opposite Emilia Clarke in Last Christmas.

Beckinsale has recently joined the cast of Charlie Day’s El Tonto and can be seen in Farming which premiered at the Toronto Film Festival.

Ritchie has recently wrapped on Disney’s Aladdin and has the third Sherlock Holmes feature lined up on his schedule.
