Based on the memoir by Benjamin Mee, ‘We Bought a Zoo’ sees Cameron Crowe returning to his place behind the camera to film the story of a man and his family who take over a run down zoo complete with hundreds of animals, there to prepare the zoo for a grand re-opening.

Matt Damon is the name being thrown with abandon across the rumour mill this evening, and if the early talks lead anywhere then Damon would be cast as Mee, who works with his children to care for his dying wife as well as the plethora of exotic animals.

I can’t think of a similar role Damon has played, and I like the idea of him teaming up with Crowe to do something other than a ‘Bourne Free’ type of role, and for now it’s a interesting prospect.

More on this one, confirmations or wild speculation as it comes our way?
