Among the many things that Marvel took with them to San Diego over the weekend, which included the news that The Avengers sequel will be called Avengers: Age of Ultron, was the first official screening of the next Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter.

The fourth short film in the studio’s One-Shot series sees Hayley Atwell reprising her role as the eponymous Agent Carter, introduced to us in Captain America: The First Avenger.

Whilst we’ll have to wait for the release of Iron Man 3 on Blu-ray/DVD to see the short in full, the first clip has made its way online, giving us a look at Atwell’s return to the character.

Picking up where the events of CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER left off, “Agent Carter” tracks British operative Peggy Carter (THE FIRST AVENGER’s Hayley Atwell) as she joins the nascent S.H.I.E.L.D. organization. As she searches for the enigmatic “Zodiac” key, Agent Carter also battles her sexist, bureaucratic boss, Agent Flynn (THE WEST WING’s Bradley Whitford), who thinks women have no place in the secret-agent business.

Co-starring Dominic Cooper (CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE FIRST AVENGER) as Howard Stark, “Agent Carter” is the fourth entry in the fan-favorite “Marvel One-Shot” Short Film Series, which exists within the continuity of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Cooper reprises his role as Tony Stark’s father, Howard Stark, with the great Bradley Whitford joining the two as Carter’s sexist and bureaucratic boss, Agent Flynn.

Louis D’Esposito (Item 47) helmed the latest short, with Eric Pearson once more penning the script, having written all four One-Shots to date.

Agent Carter will be attached to the home entertainment release of Iron Man 3, which is set to be released digitally in the US on September 3rd, ahead of its Blu-ray and DVD release on 9th September in the UK and September 24th in the US.
