Well, it looks like Mark Wahlberg will be re-teaming with The Fighter director, David O.Russell for the video game adaptation, Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune.

Wahlberg confirmed with MTV that Russell is currently writing the script and that his idea for the movie is amazing which means that Mark is pumped to be a part of it.

“”David is one of the best writer/directors I’ve ever worked with,” he said. “The idea that he has is just insane. So hopefully we’ll be making that movie this summer.

And if they can pull of their dream cast, we’re certainly intrigued. Additionally, Russell is writing the script expecting heavy hitters Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci to be in the film.

“I’m obviously in whatever David wants to do but the idea of it is so off the charts: De Niro being my father, Pesci being my uncle. It’s not going to be the watered-down version, that’s for sure.”

The film would be about Drake’s adventures as he searches for the treasure of El Dorado. Both Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune and Uncharted 2: Among Thieves brought a distinct and amazingly vivid cinematic style to the action genre, and went on to become two of the PS3’s biggest selling games upon release.

You can check out what Mark has to say about the film in the video located below this line.  Let’s hope Uncharted isn’t as big of a disappointment as Max Payne was.
