Mae Whitman (Scott Pilgrim vs. the World) has joined the cast of The Perks of Being a Wallflower.

Whitman will star opposite Emma Watson (Harry Potter) and Logan Lerman (Percy Jackson & the Lightning Thief) in the feature film adaptation of Stephen Chbosky’s acclaimed epistolary novel.

Tells the story of an introvert freshman named Charlie (Lerman) who learns everything from drug use to suicide after being taken on the wings by step siblings Sam (Watson) and Patrick.

Chbosky will make his directorial debut with the film.

Whitman can currently be seen in the comedy-drama TV series Parenthood.
