The retired actor turned rap star (?) is currently the subject of a much-talked about documentary doing the rounds at all the major festival circuits. Following the reviews of the film (and indeed, the general consensus from everyone when they first heard of his plans) there is still much scepticism as to whether his actions were real or fake.
With news from The Hollywood Reporter that the actor has been eyeing up numerous roles (including comedy The Sitter and co-starring with Sean Penn in a film called Genius) surely this is a sign that the documentary (titled I’m Still Here) may not be quite as ambiguous as some think.
Regardless of the outcome, at least Phoenix has injected a fun level of mystery and intrigue into the life of a Hollywood A-lister, a world away from the seemingly uneventful, PR-controlled lifestyle this group of actors normally maintain.
