Listen is a film that will make you cry, but more importantly, it will just make you really angry. Angry at the system it portrays, as a film that shines a harsh light on the social services industry, and a labyrinthine process. Yet the film doesn’t judge the individuals, but the system they’re placed within. To mark the release of this moving film, we had the pleasure in speaking to two of the film’s leads, Lúcia Moniz & Sophia Myles. We discussed their knowledge of the world they inhabited in this film, and on themes director Ana Rocha is portraying. Synopsis

In the London suburbs, Bela and Jota face serious difficulties when “social services” raise concerns about the safety of their three children. The 7-year-old daughter’s deafness triggers a process in the system that seems to go on forever.
