The Belfast Telegraph caught up with Liam NeesonĀ  a couple of days ago at the Moet British Independent Film Awards in London and have scooped the news that a Clash of the Titans sequel is in the world and has the title “Wrath of the Titans”. Neeson played Zeus in Clash alongside Sam Worthington (Perseus) Ralph Fiennes (Hades) and Gemma Arterton (Io) who are also attached to the sequel. Unfortunately the first movie didn’t go down too well with the critics or the fans with the post production 3d being some of the worst we’ve seen although the movie still managed to bring in 3m which you can’t really argue was rather profitable when the estimated budget to make it was 5m.

Neeson has told the newspaper:

“I’ve only read half of the script and there is still some work being done – they’re on script 10 – but I think it’s going to be some kick-ass stuff and a very human story to it”

He also revealed that the movie will begin shooting in March next year. When quizzed on the 3d aspect and whether it’ll be shot natively in the format, he replied:

“I don’t know the answer to that.”

Let’s hope so or failing that, let’s just have it in 2d please! Wrath of the Titans is being directed by Jonathan Liebesman with an expected release date of Spring 2012 and we’ll obviously keep you posted on further developments.
