One of the more ambitious film projects of recent years is Ned Benson’s The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, which arrives in London over a year after premiering as two films, Him and Her, in Toronto. At the time it was acknowledged as a work in progress and when the film was cut together (and now titled Them) it played in Cannes offering audiences an alternative view of this two-sided love story.

The decision was made to keep the film as one, and that’s the film you’ll more than likely be seeing in your local cinema. Completists may be able to see the two separate films playing as a double bill.

Tonight James McAvoy was on hand at the LFF premiere of the film and our red carpeteers (yes, it’s a real* word) Cassam Looch and Colin Hart were there to meet him.
