Sony Pictures has unveiled a shimmering new trailer for ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman,’ directed by Bill Condon, the visionary behind ‘Dreamgirls’ and ‘Beauty and the Beast.’ This reimagining of the Tony Award-winning Broadway sensation transforms a stark prison setting into a kaleidoscope of cinematic fantasy.
At the heart of ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ is Valentín, played by Diego Luna, a hardened political prisoner whose world is defined by ideology and survival. His cellmate, Molina (Tonatiuh), is a flamboyant window dresser imprisoned for public indecency, carrying with him a vivid inner world that refuses to be caged.
What begins as an uneasy coexistence slowly transforms into something deeper. Molina recounts, in lush and elaborate detail, the plot of a glamorous Hollywood musical starring his idol, Ingrid Luna, portrayed by Jennifer Lopez.
Based on the acclaimed Broadway musical, itself adapted from Manuel Puig’s novel, ‘Kiss of the Spider Woman’ has long been celebrated for its bold themes and emotional depth.
