In a surprise announcement filmmaker and podcaster-extraordinarie Kevin Smith told crowds at Power-Con that he will team up Netflix for a new round of He-Man animationed tales. This follows the director’s stint of TV directing gigs in the DCTV universe and the streaming giant’s success with a new She-Ra series. It also continues Netflix’s plans of revitalising old favourites to the many millions of nostalgic TV viewers.
Smith, who is currently working on the Jay and Silent Bob Reboot, said:
“I’m Eternia-ly grateful to Mattel TV and Netflix for entrusting me with not only the secrets of Grayskull, but also their entire Universe. In Revelation, we pick up right where the classic era left off to tell an epic tale of what may be the final battle between He-Man and Skeletor! Brought to life with the most metal character designs Powerhouse Animation can contain in the frame, this is the Masters of the Universe story you always wanted to see as a kid!.”
