Kate Winslet is set to lead ‘The Unheard,’ a new five-part limited series in development at Netflix, which is being described as a “Thelma & Louise”-style vengeance drama.
The series comes from ‘Adolescence’ writer Jack Thorne, who has penned all five episodes. Mounia Akl is attached to direct, with production scheduled to begin next year.
Winslet will star opposite Maxine Peake (Say Nothing) as two sisters whose lives are turned upside down when an act of vengeance goes wrong. Forced to go on the run, the pair find themselves desperately pursued as the series explores what drove them to commit the reckless act in the first place.

The official logline asks: “What pushed them to this reckless act, and was it ever their intention to get away with it?”
‘The Unheard’ is produced by Warp Films, Matriarch Productions and Plan B. Winslet will also executive produce alongside Thorne.
Mark Herbert and Emily Feller executive produce for Warp Films, while Hannah Walters and Stephen Graham executive produce for Matriarch Productions. Dede Gardner, Jeremy Kleiner and Nina Wolarsky executive produce for Plan B.
Netflix has not yet announced a release date for ‘The Unheard,’ but filming is expected to begin in 2027.
