HBO and Sky are working on making their partnership an even bigger success after the acclaimed series ‘Chernobyl’ went down a storm. The next limited series the two are working on is a limited series fantasy drama ‘The Third Way’ with Jude Law taking centre stage.

Set on a mysterious island off the coast of Britain, Law plays Sam, a man who encounters the island’s secretive inhabitants and their strange rituals.

Fantasy and reality began to blur for Sam, triggering past traumas, and brings him into conflict with the Islanders.

The series will be directed by ‘National Treasures’ BAFTA-winner Marc Munden and will be produced by Adrian Sturges (‘Chimerica’). Kit de Waal and Dean O’Loughlin are also writers for the series. Dennis Kelly (‘Utopia’), Plan B Entertainment and Punchdrunk International are producing.

Filming will begin in the UK in July with a scheduled broadcast slot of next year on Sky Atlantic in Europe and HBO in North America.

HBO and Sky’s current mini-series ‘Chernobyl’, which is lead by Jared Harris, Emily Watson and Stellan Skarsgård, saw a rapid increase in audiences number after the first episode aired and emerged with a cumulative audience of 8 million so far. HBO and Sky also have the historical mini-series ‘Catherine the Great’ coming later this year starring Helen Mirren.

Law was last seen in Marvel’s ‘Captain Marvel’ as Yon-Rogg and ‘Vox Lux’ alongside Natalie Portman. His upcoming projects include ‘A Rainy Day in New York’, ‘The New Pope’ and ‘Sherlock Holmes 3’.
